Eliot, accompanied by two people who also had a passion for music, was able to attend regularly music performances. Like all the other fields of art, this form was not without variety as some concert series accommodated both classical and modern music. Along with the works of Russian and French composers, the music of Beethoven particularly influenced Eliot's works. The Parisian classical music scene during the period between 1910 and 1911 was able to showcase the works of already established artists as well of those of young aspiring composers. This chapter attempts to recreate the classical music scene through describing performance, the venues in which the works were portrayed, and some of the notable composers during that period.
