The introduction sets the research for this book in its academic context. This book has several goals: to detail the nature of the ethnographic encounter, to convey a sense of how life is lived in Morocco, and to describe how one group of females—Moroccan girls and women—experience the impact of globalization in public spaces, inside the workplace, and in their homes. The book records fieldwork experiences in rough chronological order.

Keywords:   Morocco, female laborers, globalization, public spaces, fieldwork experience, female modesty, factory girls, ethnography, women
