This chapter discusses the thinking of three radical figures in Peru that eventually merged with the ideas expressed in the Mexican Constitution of 1917. These men were Manuel González Prada, José Carlos Mariátegui, and Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre, who were driven by the socialist impulse and emerged from the state of indecision and injustice that surrounded Peru to offer distinct solutions to the Peruvian dilemma. The chapter focuses on each triptych member and looks at their respective views on the situation in Peru.
