This chapter examines the history of the lost HMS Fowey, a fifth-rate frigate of the British Royal Navy. It discusses the trial and deposition made by the ship's captain Francis William Drake, great-great-great-grandson of Thomas Drake, about the capture and loss of HMS Fowey. It explains that HMS Fowey was commissioned in August 1744 and it was last seen on June 28, 1748.
