The controversy over Matt Hale's law license went on for a few more years Arguably, the controversy surrounding this issue sparked the rampage of a former church member, Benjamin Smith, who embarked on a shooting spree during the July fourth weekend in 1999. This chapter covers these and other episodes of Creativity-related violence. The tone of Creativity's literature has most probably contributed to the sporadic violence perpetrated by some of the organization's members. The vehement rhetoric of Creativity notwithstanding, Klassen emphasized that a violent revolution was not really necessary to redeem the white man. Be that as it may, he left open the possibility that physical violence may be necessary at some juncture in the future.
