The Malignant Tumor of the Colonial State: The Antibodies
The Malignant Tumor of the Colonial State: The Antibodies
This chapter addresses the different methods of resistance to the colonial state. Faced with the colonial system and its subjugation of resistance and other forms of hostile engagement, various reactions and modes of struggle emerged. A variety of social and political modes of operation (supporting and maintaining resistance on one side and social integration on the other) buttressed the production of self-identity, and contributed to the sound and fury of both an uneasy rebirth as well as a suffocation of a civil society in the face of the coercive rule of the colonial and postcolonial states.
