The Tortured Life of Scofield Thayer

James Dempsey

University Press of Florida

Scholars begin to reflect on the place of Thayer and the magazine, but they are hampered by the fact that Thayer's guardians will not allow any mention of personal matters. Consequently, the figure of Scofield Thayer grows more remote and mysterious.
