This chapter compares the degree to which Italian immigrants in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay identified with fascist Italy. Trying to account for differences in the extent to which Italians sympathized with Mussolini, the chapter examines a series of factors as possible explanations. It ultimately argues that the long-term nature of the migratory connection between sending and receiving countries and generational factors deserve particular attention, as they interacted over time with different forms of Italian diaspora nationalism.
