Memories and Temporalities of Anarchist Resistance
Community Traditions, Labor Insurgencies, and Argentine Shipyard Workers, Early 1900s to Late 1950s
Against the backdrop of a powerful anarchist and syndicalist labor movement in the port of Buenos Aires, which dominated Argentine labor politics in the first quarter of the century and remained influential among waterfront into the 1950s, this chapter analyzes the community context that made possible a resurgence of anarchist organizational tactics and strike activity among shipyard workers after the fall of the Peronist state in 1955.
